The original USB 2.0 cable (connects Type B to Type A) can be used with older USB 2.0 or newer USB 3.0 MoveDock Adapters at USB2.0 speeds. The new USB3.0 cable (Type B to Type A) can ONLY be used with newer USB3.0 MoveDock and will achieve USB3.0 speeds when the USB 3.0 MoveDock, the USB 3.0 cable, and a USB 3.0 host connection are all used.
