What is B2C?

B2C stands for "Business to Consumer".  It comes from B2B which stands for Business to Business.  The business to consumer company model is one which companies sell their products or services for sale to the consumer rather than to other businesses, as in B2B. 

Today, B2C often refers to the online selling of goods, also known as e-tailing. Short for electronic retailing.  E-tailing  products to consumers can be done either by retailers or the manufactures.

Any product can be virtually retailed and sold online.  The difficult part of e-tailing is getting consumer traffic to your website marketplace.  This makes SEO (search engine optimization) practices extremely important in selling to the consumer online. 

Consumers generally only choose websites that come up on the first couple of pages after doing a keyword web search.  Proper SEO practices will ensure that your website is highly visible on search engines.  The more internet search traffic that can be reached at an e-tail website, the better chance these views will turn into the sale of your product, your industry, and/or your subject.
