The new Dell 1950 Slide Rail Kit has combined all the previous generation rail kits into a very versatile and unique design. This new 1950 Slide Rail Kit has the unique ability to mount into a square or a round holed rack. This feature is a first with the Dell Rail Kits and provides the flexibility that other Dell Rail Kits did not have. The downside of this new design is that the mechanism that give the Rail Kit the versatility also can cause an obstruction that can prevent the Rail Kit from being installed into some types of Server Racks. Installations that have this issue can quickly resolve the problem by using the Dell 1950 Rail Ear Kit. This Rail Ear Kit will replace the mechanism on the ends of the Dell Slide Rails with a more compact design.
